Step 1 - Add Project

A Project in knowHOW is a collection of data from all configured tools for the project. Its not mandatory to configure all tools for any project but its recommended to configure atleast one PM tool, either Jira or Azure boards.

There are no limitation for adding devops tools and profiles, one project can have one or more build, SCM and Sonar profiles configured.

Project once created, cant be edited for names or hierarchy. Configured tools or their configuration can be added/edited any number of times.

  • knowHOW only allows to enter a name for project, all other hierarchy information need to be selected from data pre-populated from PS CRM system.

  • Any logged in user can create a project and by default creater of project is assigned project admin role for that project.

  • knowHOW project dont support data collection from multiple Jira/Azure board in to one knowHOW project.

  • Once project is created, navigate to project listing page and click the image-20240703-064655.png icon to add the connections and configuration for the project.

Steps - New Project

  • Navigate to ‘Settings’> New Project

  • Provide the configuration details on Basic Configuration page-

Project Methodology

Select Scrum/Kanban methodology which is followed in project.

 

Project Levels (BU-Vertical-Account-Portfolio)

Enter hierarchy level names followed in the organization.

The classification of levels is contingent upon the project structure adhered to within the organization and can be effortlessly added to or removed from the database.

Refer Good to Know Section of Meta Data Setup page.

Project Name

Enter Name of the project

 

Enable Individual KPI’s (Button)

Enable/Disable the button based on project preferences.

User can enable it to allow KnowHOW Jira Processor to fetch the people related information (ex- assignees).

If the user decides to keep this button disabled during project creation, they retain the option to enable it later at any time.

However, once enabled, the button cannot be disabled within the application. Consequently, if you want to stop sharing people's information, you will be required to set up the project again, starting from step 1.

  • Click on the ‘Save’ button.

  • New Project will be created.

     


Steps - Delete a Project?

Deleting a project is non reversible action. once deleted, project cant be restored.

Deleting a project will delete project data, project permissions and associated private connections of the project.

Only a project admin can delete the project.

  • Navigate Settings page on application.

  • Locate and click the Delete button against your project.

  • Confirm the action as required.

Once a project is assigned and saved with name, it cannot be changed. User is adviced to setup project afresh.

Same project name for two projects cannot be used.
